A New Day

I've left this little ol' blog on the shelf gathering cobwebs for the last several years.  In the meantime,  I have been enjoying being a Mom and watching my kiddos grow up.  And now with all but one in school, I can possibly start blogging again.
So much has changed in the last several years, that I am writing this with more humility and wisdom today than before and for that I am very grateful.

Now just because I haven't been blogging doesn't mean I haven't been busy, and I can't wait to show you some of my favorite past projects with many more to come.

I will begin with my personal addiction...chairs.  I just can't pass up a good looking chair or pair of chairs. I see them and my heart starts pounding.   My palms start to sweat and I debate if I need them, and whether or not I can make them over.

Sometimes I purchase them hoping that magically I will know what to do with them. Well, recently I made over a couple of chairs that I had blogged about and then quickly put into storage where they have been sitting, until I pulled them out a few weeks ago.
It was quite a process... but here is the after...

The frames were painted in Old Fashioned milk paint Snow white followed by clear then dark wax...
The before if you remember was this... gold cane backed chairs with hole in the backs.  And recently one of them had a hole in the seat from one of my kids standing on them...

I have a few photos from the process... we replaced one of the cane seats using supplies ftom Woodcraft and watching a Youtube tutorial.

Then painted, sealed and began the upholstery using some ideas ftom Miss Mustard Seed.

I love how they turned out.  Happy trails...
